Welcome to the 2021-22 School year!

Welcome to the 2021-22 school year Lovett families!

I am Mr. McGuire and I will be teaching 6th and 7th grade Reading, Writing, and Social Science this year. This will be my third year teaching at Lovett and my ninth year teaching in Chicago Public Schools.

The past couple years for our students and families has been difficult and as we reopen schools in person this year, challenges will come our way. My major goal for my students and families will be open communication, perseverance, and dedication. I promise to do my part in helping students grow and reach their goals.

As the year progresses please be on the lookout for information as it comes up. Be sure to check the school website, listen in for calls from the school, and check emails coming from the school or myself. I will always make myself available to parents and students, so please never hesitate to reach out.

Below you will see a list of supplies that would be helpful to bring the first week of school:

• Pencils (number 2 or mechanical)
• 3 Spiral Notebooks (reading, writing, social science/achieve 3000)
• 3 ring binder or folders (anything to help keep work organized)
• Hand sanitizer
• Kleenex 
• Masks (masks will be required in the building)
• Headphones (not required, but can be helpful when students are working on independent tasks on their computer)
