Tips To Be Successful at Remote Learning

  1. Routines: Create a routine for going to bed and waking up. Treat Remote Learning as if the student is going to the physical school building. Classes will start around 9:00 am, which is hard to be at if you are waking up at 2:00 pm. Create a time for breaks and snacks. I will produce a weekly schedule to lay out what the week will look like, for students along with what time each student needs to be logged on.

  1. Work Space: Give the student(s) a work space where they know it is time to get after it.  Ideally, this would be a quiet place away from distractions.

  1. Reach Out: If you have questions, concerns, technical difficulties PLEASE reach out to me as soon as you can. I tend to respond within a few hours. I just ask no calls or text after 9:00 pm.

  1. Ownership: As a parent, I want my children to be accountable.  That means they need to take ownership of their words, actions, property, and learning. If class starts at 9:00, then they need to be on and ready to go at 9:00. Your child can do hard things, challenge them. They need to be responsible for their work and to take pride in what they do. How you do one thing, is how you should do everything.

We anticipate things will arise that will challenge us all during this time. However, with your support I know we can make the most of this situation. I look forward to working with you.
