Welcome Letter (2023-2024)

Dear Parents/Families,

Welcome back to the 2023-2024 school year! My name is Ms. Sherice Allen, and I will be your child’s 3rd grade teacher for Reading, Writing, and Social Studies. I am excited to welcome our students back!

This will be my 9th year teaching at Lovett and my 17th year in CPS. I am also a parent and have 3 children (one college student, a high school junior, and an 8th grader).

Communication between a parent, a student, and the student’s teacher is one of the most important tools that enable children to be successful. The following will be used to keep in communication with you on a regular basis:

School Website: www.lovettelementary.org You can visit our class page for updates. Once you are on the website, click on “Staff/Faculty”. This will direct you to my class webpage.
Weekly Newsletter: I will send home a newsletter every Monday describing what your child will be taught during that week. Please use this to have conversations with your child about what they are working on, doing well with, etc.
Remind App: The Remind App is a quick way to send short, but important information concerning our class. Once I have your current cell phone and/or email, you will receive an invitation to join.
