Welcome Letter 2022-2023

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year! I hope you and your families are all doing well.

My name is Jennifer McGee, and I am so excited to be your child’s 2nd teacher. This will be my eighth year at Lovett School, however, I have taught in CPS for many more years than that. I am a mother of three amazing children, ages 19, 20, and 26. So, I can say that I have just about seen it all when it comes to children and learning. Please know that I am 100% committed to doing what it takes to help your child reach his/her full potential.

Here are a few of my main goals for this year: 

• Cultivate a relationship between you, your child, and myself that is based on mutual respect, trust, and open communication.
• Create and facilitate learning experiences for your child that will be challenging, engaging, interesting, and FUN.
• Establish a classroom culture where all students feel welcome, safe, and included.

I plan to communicate with you mostly via email but also by phone for urgent matters. Please be on the lookout for a document requesting your preferred email address and telephone number.

Again, I am very excited about the upcoming school year and look forward to working with you.
